SERVICES AND PRACTICES

Sunday:
11:00 Teaching Service
18:30 Gospel Service

Thursday:
19:45 Prayer Meeting and Bible Study

We believe the Bible to be the inspired Word of God and that the way of salvation is through faith alone in the Lord Jesus Christ accompanied by true repentance. Therefore emphasis is placed on teaching from the Bible for believers as well as evangelistic preaching for those who are seeking the truth.

Although we are an independent free church, we are baptistic in principle, believing that baptism by immersion is for those who have come to an understanding of the truths of the gospel and have repented of their sins. The church adheres to the 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith which gives a comprehensive summary of Biblical doctrines and practices.

We believe that public worship should be reverent as well as being intelligent, and hence the mode of public worship we follow is traditional and ordered, consisting of prayer, hymn singing, bible reading and a preaching service normally led by the pastor. The purpose of worship is to praise and honour God and give Biblical instruction for the members of the congregation. The Authorised (King James) Version of the bible is used in the public services as we believe this to be the most accurate and God-honouring translation; also, it has stood the test of time. We use a hymn book that contains reverent hymns from the reformed tradition.
